On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Silvio D. Portesi, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 77. Silvio was born on March 12, 1946, in Savigliano, Italy. Silvio married Janet Coulthard on August 2, 1969, they had four children, Silvio Jr., Gino, Kristina and Tony.
Silvio had a passion for the restaurant and fireworks business, he took over from his parents the Portesi Fine Foods in Wisconsin Rapids, that was started by his father in 1961. His children will carry on the family traditions with the restaurant and fireworks businesses.
Silvio is survived by his children, Gino (Brian Perry) Portesi, Kristina (Nash) Glinski and Tony (Taylor) Portesi; grandchildren, Bianca Bowden, Leo Glinski, Gage Glinski and Maxon Portesi. He is further survived by his many special customers and poker friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marino and Caterina (Giraldi) Portesi, his wife Janet who passed on January 3, 2024, his son Silvio Jr. and by his mother and father-in-law, Leo and Hazel Coulthard.
A private family service was held, and burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park.
