Simon Simpson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle Funeral Home on Feb. 19, 2024.
Simon (Tom) Thomas Simpson, age 67 went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was born in Edgecombe County to Lane and Emma Simpson of Speed, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jo Johnson, Sally Baker and sister-in-law, Sylvia Simpson.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of 46 years and their children; Kristin Simpson, Kaitlin Cobb (Danny) and Thomas Simpson (Kim). Brothers, Lane Simpson Jr. and Robert Simpson (Donna). Sisters, Estelle Jones (James) and Wanda Holloman (Bobby). Brother- in- laws, Sam Johnson and Wayne Baker. His very special Aunt, Artie Hamm. A host of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews. He was a proud grandpa to Elena and Lydia Simpson, Lily Prince and Bayleigh Cobb.
Tom was an employee of Long Manufacturing for over 36 years. He was a very generous person with a big heart who loved to help others; he always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he would meet. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed spending time with his family and loved a good BBQ!
Tom was a brave soul, even when tragedy befell him; he still had the courage to smile. Through all his hardships, Tom still remained dedicated to his Lord and Savior. Tom was a father, a best friend, and the greatest grandpa anyone could ask for. Tom was loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank his very special friends at Prodigy Nursing Home for their kindness and love during his stay there and to the congregation of Mildred Missionary Baptist church for their prayers and support throughout the years.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home at 7:00pm, with the Pastor Lane Simpson, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm.
