Simone Y. (Dumont) (Martel) Berube

Mother- Grandmother- Great Grandmother

Simone Berube, a caring companion of over 25 years to Robert Torcoletti of Tyngsboro, beloved wife of the late Leonard Berube and a proud mother, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at home on February 22, 2026. Born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, Simone attended Lowell Trade School, where she focused on sewing and homemaking-skills that became lifelong passions. She later worked at Wang in Tewksbury, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Simone was the devoted mother of Kenneth Martel of Tewksbury, MA; David Martel of Conway, NH; Brian Martel and his wife Linda of Polk City, Florida; and Steven Martel and his wife Jen of Nashua, NH. She was also a loving stepmother to Leonard Berube and his wife Karen of Pelham, NH; Ronald Berube and his wife Eileen of Dracut, MA; and Deborah-Jean Conway and her husband Kevin of Billerica, MA. Family was the center of Simone's life. In her early years, she spent many cherished days in New Hampshire, and throughout her life she loved gathering at the lake with those she loved most. In her later years, she spent countless joyful hours at her sister's place, happily pedaling the kids out to a little island on the lake, swimming, fishing and taking her grandchildren to Chuck-E-Cheese creating memories that will be treasured forever. She also cherished spending time with her dear sister-in-law Yvette Fortier, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews as well as extended family. Celebrating the holidays with family was her favorite time of year, decorating her house for each season. Along with her own children, Simone shared many special holidays with Bob's daughters and their families, whom she loved: Robin Parent and her husband Dave, and their children Jesse Parent and Erin Lambert and her husband Matt; Bobbi Corcoran and her companion Tom Manzella, along with Bobbi's children Megan Corcoran and Justin Corcoran and his wife Michaela and their beautiful children, Alice and Jack; and Rhonda Torcoletti. These gatherings were filled with laughter, warmth, and the joy that Simone cherished, mostly -being surrounded by family. Simone also found great happiness in attending her grandchildren's school events and most recent attendance to great-grandson Luke's sports events. She was their biggest supporter, always proud and eager to celebrate their accomplishments, big and small. She had many simple joys. She loved traveling, line dancing, trips to the casino, knitting, and sewing. Her remarkable talent for knitting brought warmth and comfort to many. She lovingly hemmed clothes for herself and her family and created countless blankets, scarves, and mittens for loved ones and for students in Nashua and Allenstown, New Hampshire. Through every stitch, Simone shared her generosity, creativity, and love. She treasured her role as grandmother to LJ Berube, David Martel, Eric Martel, Kyle Berube, Justin Berube, Kameron Conway, Spencer Berube, Kevin Conway, Hunter Berube, Kristian Conway, Colby Martel, Alison Martel, Malia Martel and Jessie Martel, and as a proud great-grandmother. Her love and pride for each of them was boundless and she enjoyed her time with all of them. Simone was predeceased by her loving parents, George and Martha Dumont; her sister and best friend, Diane Rowbotham and her husband Jim; and her brother, Roland Dumont. Her greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, strength, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
