Simone Louise Feder, 84, of
Carolina Shores, North Carolina, formerly of Silver Ridge Park West in Berkley Township in Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House of the Grand Strand
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on December 17, 2025.
Simone was born in Bronx, New York on April 23, 1941 to the late Morris and Mae Spiegel Gorsky. Along with her parents, she is now united in passing with the love of her life, her (second) husband, Barry "Butch" Feder, a devoted Yankee fan. She will also be reunited with her older sister, Harriet, and brother-in-law, Isadore Moskowitz, and their son/her nephew, Paul, as well as sister- and brother-in-laws, Sally and Ernest Paduano, and Richard ("Dick") Feder.
Simone was a 1958 graduate of Morris High School in Bronx, New York. In 1962, she met and married her first husband, and became a mother of three. Post divorce, she attended Georgian Court College in Lakewood, New Jersey, and started a career in social services, working for a child advocacy agency. At age 50, she received a nursing scholarship from the State of New Jersey and subsequently attended Brookdale Community College, where she received an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. This demanding profession was a wonderful demonstration of her ability to care for those around her.
In her free time, Simone relished time spent making memories with family and many supportive friends and neighbors. She was a gentle, kind, sweetheart of a woman. She had a keen interest in ancestry, genealogy, gardening, and playing Mexican train dominoes within her neighborhood. Singing in the chorus at the local senior center was also a great joy for her. Simone was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a supporter of local animal shelters, from which she and Barry had adopted several cats and dogs, over the decades. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Simone's memory are her three children, Leilani (Shaun) Gordon, Wendy Fallon, and Matthew (Laura) Fallon, and twin grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and great nephews, sister-in-law, Joyce Feder, and many, many friends and neighbors, as well as her loyal Sato dog from Puerto Rico, Lola.
Simone's family wishes to extend a warm thank you to Rabbi Avi Perets and the members of Temple Emanu-El in
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for their kindness, prayers, love and support, and for the gentle care of the attendants and nurses at Embrace Hospice House during her final days. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal."
For internment, Simone will be transported north to rest beside her beloved Barry at Beth Olam Cemetery on Route 70 in Lakewood, New Jersey.
A Celebration of Simone's life will be held at Temple Emanu-El in
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at a later date, to be announced by her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Simone's memory may be made to Temple Emanu-El in
