Sione Ofa He Mo'oni Vunipola Jr. (Pola), 21, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on February 4th of 2026.

Born on May 6, 2004, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he lived a life grounded in faith, love and devotion to family. Sione was a faithful servant of God who found strength and comfort in prayer and scripture. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him.

With a heart full of joy, Sione was forever smiling, laughing and dancing to bring energy to the room. A true gentle giant, Sione was happiest when he could be of service to someone in need. Sione's heart and happiness were deeply rooted in his siblings, with a special place for his younger brother, Viliami. Sione was the pride and joy of his parents, but especially his mom's. Sione had a heart full of love for many and was deeply loved in return, especially by his Grandmothers Lute and Mele and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. We take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope that we will one day be reunited with Sione in Heaven.

Sione is survived by his parents, Kapeli and Mili Vunipola, his three sisters, Lute Lomu (Viliami), Vanessa, Pauline and his younger brother Viliami. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and namesake Sione Ofa He Mo'oni Vunipola Sr. his maternal grandfather Hingano Hehea Latu Sr. his uncles Liueli Fusimalohi, Isileli Latu, Viliami Latu and his older brother Hingano Hehea Latu Jr. and our many loved ones on the other side of the veil.

Sione's funeral wake will be held on Saturday, February 21st, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with his service following after from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bountiful Heights Stake Center, 33 Moss Hill Drive, Bountiful UT, 84010. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a soul so dear to us.
