It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sister Doris Dore announces the passing of their beloved matriarch. Born in Morgan City, Louisiana on September 7, 1947, Doris peacefully departed this world and entered her heavenly home on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 77.
Sister Doris was the dedicated Co-Pastor of New Life Assembly of God Ville Platte, where her sweetness radiated love and faithfulness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She sought to nurture and care for those around her, always offering a compassionate ear and unwavering support. Her ministry was a testament to the values of compassion, forgiveness, and service. She loved God with all her heart, soul and mind. She had a willing spirit to forgive and accept everyone. Sister Doris was a prayer warrior, a caregiver, and a true servant of God, embodying compassion and understanding in all aspects of her life.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 God serving years, Reverend Brian Dore, her daughters Nicole Guillory (Kevin) of Pine Prairie and Michelle Reed (Brandon) of Youngsville, and her cherished grandchildren Dustin, Draygan, Kaden, Aryanna, Averee, and Taylen. She also leaves behind her sisters Reva Reed of Krotz Springs, Charlotte Opperman of Patterson, and Brenda Gontas of Houston.
In honor of Sister Doris' life, a celebration of her legacy of love, faith and ministry will be held at New Life Assembly of God Ville Platte on Thursday, September 26, 2024. from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The ceremony to honor a life well lived by a good and faithful servant will begin at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of New Life Assembly of God.
Following the service, Doris will be laid to rest alongside her son Dave "Davey" Patrick Dore at the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire many.
