Paula Cecile Landreneau, a beloved educator and devoted member of her community, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the age of 78 in her hometown of Ville Platte, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Mitch Guidry officiating services.
Paula was born on Saturday, September 7,1946 in Ville Platte, and was a proud 1964 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and furthered her education by obtaining a Master's degree plus 30 in the field of Education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She dedicated over 30 years to the field of education within Evangeline Parish, where she served with distinction as an assistant principal at both Ville Platte High School and principal of Sacred Heart High School. Her commitment to her students and their success was unparalleled.
In addition to her exemplary career, Paula had a rich array of hobbies and interests. She was a talented painter, skilled in both watercolors and oils, often gifting her beautiful pieces of art to friends and family. Paula loved to travel; she cherished adventures that included trips to Europe and to The Holy Land in Israel in addition to countless other trips with friends. Her love for travel enriched her life and provided her with stories that she fondly shared.
Paula was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and it guided her actions and relationships with others.
Paula is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Eric P. Landreneau, Sr.; her daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Moorman, and her husband, William A. of Kentwood; and brother, Chip Foxworth and his wife, Cindy of Ville Platte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Charles Foxworth and Cecile Reed Foxworth, and her beloved son, Eric Philip Landreneau, Jr.
Her memory will be honored with a visitation at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a rosary at 12:00 PM.
Paula Landreneau will be remembered for the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone who crossed her path. Her legacy of love, joy, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
