Skylar Steven Burrows, born on January 12, 1991, in
Ogden, Utah, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 34. His life, though brief, was filled with love, dedication, and a passion for family and nature.
Skylar was a graduate of Crestview High School in Crestview, Florida, and furthered his education by attending classes at Cape Fear Community College. His commitment to serving others led him to enlist in the United States Army, where he served as a member of the Military Police. Following his honorable service, Skylar found camaraderie and joy participating in golf tournaments with the Veterans Golf Association.
Professionally, Skylar built a career in sales with Verizon before pursuing a new path as a Sleep Expert at Mattress Firm. He was known for his dedication, work ethic, and the genuine care he showed towards his colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Skylar was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Silvia Nicole "Nikki" Burrows, and a loving father to their young daughter, Lunabella. He cherished his family deeply and shared a special bond with each member. He spent joyful hours hunting with his father-in-law, Ted, and working on cars with his brother, Chase. Skylar's love for nature was evident in all aspects of his life, and he found peace and happiness in its beauty.
Skylar is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shelley Drysdale. He is survived by his wife Nikki and daughter Lunabella; his brother Chase Drysdale and his wife Casey; his sister Celeste Burrows Ostman and her husband Dustin; his grandparents William and Sunan O'Donnell; and his parents-in-law, Theodore and Anabella Hawkins. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Skylar at the Nature Center at Halyburton Park on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay tribute to a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion. Skylar will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for the love and warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through the many memories he created with those he loved.
