Sondra Lee Mason, 84, lovingly known as Sandy, of Ada, was born on September 11, 1941, to Jack Minick and Marie (Collier) Minick. She entered her heavenly home after a life marked by devotion to her faith, her family, and the many people blessed to know her.
Throughout her life, Sandy worked in the photo lab at Walmart and later at Citizens Bank, serving a combined 25 years with dedication.
Sandy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma, and especially loved singing in the church choir. She was a prolific creator of all types of miniatures, a hobby that brought her great joy. She also loved Western movies, playing cards with her friends, and riding along with her favorite Ada police officers. Above all, Sandy deeply loved her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As an adult, Sandy made her personal commitment to Christ while watching a baseball game on television. With her children present, she bowed her head in prayer and received Jesus into her heart. She and Larry were later baptized at Oak Ave Baptist Church-an experience she treasured for the rest of her life.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Jack Minick and Marie Minick, her son Larry Mason; and her brother, Jerry Minick.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Keel and husband Jay of McKinney, Texas, and Diana Ross and husband Toby, her grandchildren, Ashley Mason, Christopher Mason, Wyatt Keel, Allison Hawks and husband Perry, Natalie Burns and husband Taylor, Madi Kate Ross, Boady Ross, and Mallory Ross.
Her favorite scriptures were John 13:34, John 14:1, and John 14:6, verses that guided her daily walk with God. Sandy often shared a quote that reflected her unwavering faith: "God's 'no' is 'yes' to a greater blessing.
Sandy looked forward to the joy of heaven, and she now rests in the presence of the Savior she loved so deeply. She will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her humor, and her steadfast love for her family.
There will be a funeral service held to honor her life on Monday, November 17th, 2025 at 2:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home in Ada, cremation services will follow the service.
