Songa Ellaner Dean Crews, age 76, of Baxley passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at Memorial Health Meadows in Vidalia.
Mrs. Crews was born January 11, 1949 in Appling County to the late Dudley A. Dean and the late Sadie Marie (McNeal) Dean. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a retired seamstress from ship-n-shore. Songa loved to work in her garden and was a great softball player. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Marie Dean, Carolyn Watson, and Marilyn Hiers; brothers, Elwood Dean, Edward Dean, Van Allen Dean, Dudley Dean Jr., and Stanford Dean.
Survivors include her husband, Lucius C. Crews, III; sons, Lucius Crews, IV of Baxley, and Stacy Wayne Crews of Baxley; sisters, Sandra Turner of Baxley, and Jennifer Dean Snyder of Florida; brother, Randy Dean of New York; five grandchildren, Lucius (Michell Escamilla) Crews, Morgan (Bradley) Lust, Tyler (Marissa) Crews, Syles (Maranda) Teston and Raylee Farley and six great grandchildren, Katherine Crews, Elena Crews, Lincoln Lust, Bailey Lust, Syles Teston, Jr. and Sawyer Teston.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joe Ferguson officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Lucius C. Crews, V, Tyler Crews, Syles Teston, Hunter Yawn, Benny Crews, and B. J. Crews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Chael of Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
