Sonia Blake Obituary
Sonia Joy Blake, 73, passed away on June 30, 2024, at her home in Burleson, Texas. She was born to Nolen and Kate Clark on October 26, 1952, in Meridian, Mississippi.
A devoted mother, Sonia dedicated her life to raising her daughter, a testament to her unwavering love and commitment to her family.
In 1999, she married the love of her life, Michael Blake, in Arlington, Texas. She was married for 25 years. In 2004, she retired from the aerospace industry to live her dream life as Granny B. She enjoyed being a mother, but being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She took pride in her old and new friendships and always loved sharing her stories of her YaYas.
She is survived by her spouse, Mike Blake of Burleson, TX, brother Tracy Clark of Pensacola, FL, daughter Courtney Shea Werner (Greg) of Athens, TX, and her true pride, her grandchildren, Luke Geist, Avery Werner, and Kaden Werner. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless, and she adored her extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas, at 11 am on Friday, July 5, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to an animal rescue of choice.
