Sonia Diaz Obituary
SHELBY: Sonia Rosales Diaz, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Cleveland County. Born on October 31, 1930, in Santiago, Chile, Sonia lived a long and fulfilling life, embracing each day with grace and warmth.
She was the cherished daughter of Juan Rosales Zuniga and Cecilia Diaz, who preceded her in death. Sonia was also preceded in death by her five brothers and six sisters, with whom she shared many treasured memories.
Sonia is lovingly remembered by her children: sons Roberto Valenzuela, Carlos Valenzuela, Fernando Valenzuela, Ricardo Valenzuela, and Nano Valenzuela, and daughters Vilma Valenzuela and Marcela Valenzuela, all residing in Chile. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and legacy.
Sonia's love for nature was evident in her fondness for being outdoors, where she delighted in the presence of squirrels and birds. Her gentle appreciation for the simple wonders of life touched the hearts of those who knew her.
Her family and friends will hold her memory dear, celebrating the life of a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and love will be dearly missed.
