Sonia N. Fuentes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on September 25, 1960, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Sonia later made her home in Manhattan, New York, where she raised her family and built a life filled with love, faith, and music. She most recently lived in Florida.

Sonia dedicated her life to caring for others. She began her career in the medical field as a medical assistant at Settlement Health before joining Callen-Lorde, where her compassion touched many lives. After moving to Florida, she continued her work as a phlebotomist, a role she carried with pride and dedication until her recent illness.

She loved her church, her music, and above all, her family. Sonia will be remembered for always putting others first, her kindness, her laughter, and her enormous heart that made everyone feel loved and cared for.

Sonia is survived by her devoted husband, Antonio Fuentes; her loving children, Javier Fuentes, Jodieann Fuentes (and her husband, Manuel DePina), and Anthony Fuentes; her cherished grandchildren, Elijah Harper, Makayla Harper, Isaiah Fuentes, Hailey Ruiz, and Jonel Ruiz; her dear mother, Maria Narváez; her siblings, Diana Gonzalez, Wanda Agosto, Sandra Agosto, and Josue Agosto; and many extended family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Though Sonia's journey with cancer was difficult, she faced it with the same strength and grace that defined her life. Her faith, her love for her family, and her generous spirit never wavered.

A service to celebrate Sonia's life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Kersey Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Sonia's love will continue to shine through her husband, children, grandchildren, mother, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
