Sonia May Williams, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Cherished wife of 64 years of the late Richard, H., Sr.; devoted mother of the late Richard H., Jr. and mother-in-law of Stephanie; grandmother of Bridget and Megan Williams; treasured daughter of the late Steve and Mary (nee Fritz) Todorovich; loving sister of Alex (Nancy), Helen Hamer (Art), Olga Attewell (Fred), Millie Ortman (Russell), George (Arlene), Steve (Alice] and Rose Milkovich (Nick); dearest aunt of numerous nieces and nephews; godmother to Sonia and Jessica and dear friend of Elaine and Ron Pintner.
Sonia worked at Ohio Bell for many years editing the ads in the Yellow Pages. However, she "worked" even harder at being a mom! She was an enthusiastic parent, always supporting her son's endeavors and participating in school activities like the PTA and band fundraisers.
Second only to her role as a parent was her devotion to her Lutheran faith. She was a dedicated and active member of her church community and gave life to her faith in many ways!
She also enjoyed music, particularly operas and musicals, but the voice of Mario Lanza was the one that touched her heart more than the rest!
Sonia was a very outgoing lady and truly enjoyed social occasions especially family functions, lunch with friends and traveling to Michigan to spend time with her husband's side of the family.
When not spending time with others, she could be found at home in her yard tending her beloved garden. She loved surrounding her home with flowers, especially roses. Her home was also not complete with a four-legged friend, for there was never a time when she didn't have a dog as a companion. Shelties were always a particular favorite, too!
Sonia will be remembered for many things, her flowers, her dogs, and her faith, but it was her infamous eyerolls and expressive face telling you without words exactly where you stood that made this spitfire of a lady the most memorable! However, those whose lives had been touched by her knew that everything she did in her life always came from a place of love, and it is that trait that made her so loved by others as well and is why she will be missed by many!
