Sonja Brock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Funeral Home - Neosho on Feb. 13, 2024.
Sonja Irma Brock, age 74, passed away on February 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Germany on March 9, 1949. Sonja met the love of her life, Vurl Brock, and they were married on November 10, 1979, in Germany while he was stationed there in the army. Sonja was a remarkable woman known for her determination and zest for life. She learned to speak English by watching horror movies and reading horoscopes and comics. A dedicated homemaker, Sonja's greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved grandbabies. She had a special talent for baking pies and cakes, delighting her loved ones with her delicious treats. In her leisure time, Sonja enjoyed various hobbies, including knitting, playing Bingo, and watching the ID Channel. She found solace in planting flowers and watching cardinals, and despite her aversion to touching fish, she appreciated fishing and hunting. Sonja had a routine of visiting Walmart multiple times a day, always accompanied by her faithful co-pilot. She also cherished the thrill of finding treasures at garage sales. She loved the snow and the beauty that came with it. Sonja is survived by her devoted husband, Vurl Brock, her children Tanja Rose, Vurl Eugene Brock III and his wife Jennie, and Christina Brock, her thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and nephew Christian Bayer. She is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Brock, and her siblings.
A memorial service to celebrate Sonja's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with Melvin Stapp officiating. Contributions in memory of Sonja can be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD, 21741.
