Sonja J. Brown

MINERAL RIDGE – Sonja J. Brown, age 76, entered safely into the arms of her Savior Friday, December 26, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was born June 2, 1949 in Warren, the daughter of James Miller and Elizabeth (Taylor) McCorkle.
A 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Sonja worked 32 years for Delphi Packard before retiring. Sonja was blessed with outstanding homemaking skills. She made clothes for herself and others and enjoyed every moment behind a sewing machine or crafting. She was a terrific cook and baker, and you haven't lived until you've tasted her barbeque. Sonja was a member of Valley Baptist Church.
Precious memories of Sonja live on with her daughter, Nicole Brown of Warren; her stepdaughter, Michele Guzman (Harold) of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren: Treston Brown, Aiden Brown, and Aunique Clark; and her devoted niece, Yvette Pendleton of Bear, Delaware, who cared for Sonja in countless wonderful ways.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her beloved husband of thirty-nine years, Parry Brown, whom she married in 1982 and who passed March 21, 2021; her son, Richard Dixon, Jr.; her sister, Sandra Bryant; and her brother, Basil Miller.
Services are private. Sonja's urn will be laid to rest at Niles Union Cemetery.
