Sonja Renee Dodds-Post, aged 60, and Brian Keith Post, aged 54, passed away on November 22, 2024. They died together in a tragic car accident, and a comfort to their loved ones is that they died as they lived, side by side.
Sonja was born on October 23, 1964, in Findlay, Ohio, and was known for her endless love for family, especially her sons. A graduate of Findlay High School in 1983, she attended The Ohio State University, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and earned a degree in Social Work. Her compassionate nature led her to a career as a supervisor in the Community Action Commission's Head Start program, where she worked for 34 years, touching countless lives.
Brian was born on January 30, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan and was known for his love of the outdoors and quiet spaces. A graduate of Findlay High School in 1988, he excelled in football, track, technical crew and TV production. This passion led to college where his major was in TV production. He began his career helping launch Findlay TV-47, later transitioning to Findlay Electric and McNaughton-McKay, where he spent 26 years as a Regional CAP supervisor. He loved to be part of the solution, always the first to lend a helping hand to family and friends.
Sonja and Brian were married twenty years. Sonja brought two sons into Brian's life, and he loved them as his own. They built a home filled with warmth, enjoying holidays and celebrations with their families, watching movies, playing games, baking, candy making and gardening. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership; they loved being together and complemented each other in every way.
They are survived by their children, Nigel (Ambra) Dodds and Collin Dodds; Sonja's parents, Marvin and Ann Stechschulte; Brian's parents, George and Cheryl Post; siblings, Pam (Tim) Hamlin, Allison (Ryan) Yeager, and Jeff (Kate) Stechschulte; as well as their beloved nieces and nephews, Jack & Will Stechschulte, Brittany Hamlin, Kristina (Wayne) Rowe, Tyler (Travis) Hamlin, Blake (Katy) Hamlin, Ashton Yeager & Hudson Yeager and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with an opportunity to share memories beginning at 6:30pm at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home at 205 W. Sandusky Street in Findlay. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 30, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Church, 750 Bright Road in Findlay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hancock Christian Clearing House 1800 N Blanchard St #107 or Hope House 1800 N Blanchard St #108, both in Findlay.

Sonja and I were college roommates at Ohio State our freshman year at Lincoln Tower. I fondly remember our time spent together with laughter. Prayers to her family. RIP Sonja.
