Sonya Hamilton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sonya Treidel Hamilton, 77, who left us peacefully on February 17, 2026.

Born on October 10,1948, in Long Beach, California, Sonya later made her home in Little Rock, a place she grew to love. She devoted many years working at the Arkansas School for the Deaf ensuring access, dignity, and opportunity for students.

Her most cherished role in life was that of mother to her beloved daughter, Tucker Hamilton Donnelly. Sonya shared with Tucker her love of antiques, art, and home design-passions that helped inspire Tucker's own career in interior design. But most importantly, Sonya passed on a fierce, maternal love that will continue to guide her family for generations.

Sonya loved her two grandsons, Asher and Whitt Donnelly, and took immense pride in the young men they are becoming. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Bradley Donnelly.

Sonya had many dear friends throughout her life who provided a support network to both Sonya and Tucker. Her dear friend Lori Upson, remained a devoted friend throughout their lives, providing invaluable support to Sonya and Tucker in these final days of her remarkable life.

Sonya had a special soft spot for animals and delighted in spoiling dogs at every opportunity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
