Sister Florine Licavoli was born on November 29, 1942, to Salvatore and Mary (De Mercurio) Licavoli in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from St. Ambrose High School and entered the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence on October 7, 1960, making her First Profession of Vows on August 22, 1963.

Sister Florine obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Child Care from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan, and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Neumann College in Aston, Michigan.

Sister Florine was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. She possessed the gift of joyful storytelling, entertaining everyone with her tales. Her commitment to her family, community, and faith was unwavering. Her life was characterized by dedicated service, love, and compassion for children and adults with special needs. She shared her faith and joy with them, as well as with all those she worked alongside. She was a cherished friend to many, touching their lives and guiding them to God through her words, prayers, and suffering. While her passing has left a void in the hearts of all, we are grateful for the gift of her life.

Sister Florine passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at St. Williams Care Center in Milbank, South Dakota. She was 82 years old.
