Evans MortuaryStaci Nichol Johnson Williams, age 53, passed away while in the care of Atrium Health Medical Center in Charlotte, on Sunday, September 14, 2025. William and Jacqueline (Caldwell) Johnson gave birth to their first-born Staci on April 25, 1972 in Rockwood, Tennessee.
Staci was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter. Staci enjoyed listening to jazz & to frequenting jazz venues, delighted in attending operas & symphonies, and watching British telly. She adored dragonflies (living and manmade embellishments), was an ornithopile, was an astrophile, and loved bold, red lipstick. Staci could teach a masterclass in minding your own business and not catering to gossip like her grandmother Carrie (Moore) Johnson. She was simple, but elegant, proud, and yet humbled, and strong, and however fragile, especially in her last days.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Ashli Williams, her mother Jacqueline Johnson, her father William Johnson, her sister Stephani Walker, and her granddaughter Aniyah Dodson. Staci maintained special bonds with her lookalike Aunt Debra (Johnson) Wells, her Aunt Irma Lyn (Caldwell) Urtan, cousin Ruby Moore, family friend Patricia Gatling (Ms. Pat), Aunt Earmel (Locke) Doughty deceased, and Aunt “Cardie” (Caldwell) Pride deceased. She also leaves behind a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love her and will dearly miss her.
There will be a Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary, Memorial services and a Celebration of Staci's life will follow on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, TN.
