On January 10, 2025, Stacy Clark-Brown peacefully departed this life in the presence of her devoted children. We are blessed with myriads of stories highlighting her life. This remarkable and candid woman, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother lived life on her own terms. Born on October 7, 1960, in Nuremberg, West Germany, Stacy was thrust into a family of nine brothers who welcomed her with tepid reservation and fascination. While not prepared for a sister they quickly grew to love and to appreciate her unique character and voice. She was an equal in every sense of the word.
In grade school Stacy was a straight A student and played the Violin. A graduate of Denbigh High School, Stacy Brown earned her associate's degree from Thomas Nelson Community College. It was a challenge she accepted and won with flying colors. Stacy was smart and competitive and unabashedly authentic. Finding great joy in her role as the "cool" aunt and "doting" grandmother she found newfound purpose in life. She was genuinely happy. Never compromising her essence Stacy once stated, "the right people will love the real me!" How profound, how true, how Stacy!
Stacy was a two-time cancer survivor. She fought valiantly each time while maintaining her dignity and grace through each test, each battle. Rarely complaining even during the worst of moments, humor became her pain killer. Her irreverent perspective of her battle comforted others. She fought to the bitter end and found peace in knowing that she would now be with loved ones who preceded her and welcomed her with open arms.
Stacy is survived by her 4 children: Nicole (Derrick) McCown, Darien (Eboni) Clark, Roy Brown, and Ashley Coleman, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Brothers: Kenneth "Kenny" Harkins, Otis Johnny Clark, William "Billy" Clark, Reginald A. Clark, Michael T. Clark, Baba Zak A. Kondo, Mark E. Clark, Kevin Clark, Robert "Bobby" Clark. Childhood friend: Karen Jarvis. Stacy had many friends who feel and share the family's profound loss.
