Stacy A. Whalen, 52, of Haverhill MA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
She was born in Lawrence, MA on August 13, 1971, daughter of James and Maureen (O'Connor) Whalen.
Stacy graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1989. After high school she continued her education in the medical field and went on to hold numerous roles as a Licensed Practical Nurse, an OR technician, a Certified Nursing Assistant and spent many years as a Secretary at Lawrence General Hospital in the ER, a job she truly loved.
You could always find Stacy sitting by the ocean. She loved the sand, the water and the sunshine, no matter the place. She enjoyed spending her time in York Beach, Maine where she admired the Nubble Lighthouse and spent many summers as a teenager working at York's Wild Kingdom. There she made lifelong friends and memories. Stacy also enjoyed many trips to Florida, with her parents and family.
Her favorite activities included her morning trips to Dunkin Donuts, relaxing at the beach and watching the sunsets, reading, advocating for marine life, camping in Salisbury reservation and admiring numerous lighthouses. She was always up for an adventure and loved taking long drives, without a destination in mind. More than anything, Stacy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and loved caring for her two cats, Charlotte and Tucker.
Stacy will be remembered by her contagious laughter and sense of humor, her kindness, her resilient spirit and her strong love for her family, friends, and all of those around her. To know Stacy, was to love her.
In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her two children, whom she was incredibly proud of, Nicholas Bonasoro of Boston, MA and Isabella Ross of Haverhill, MA, her younger brother Christopher Whalen and his wife Courtney Patti of Virginia, her niece and nephew Alexandra Whalen and Connor Whalen, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Thank you to her cousin Janice Pawlick for her love and support.
Stacy was predeceased by her grandparents John and Marilyn O'Connor and Pauline Mendonsa, her aunt Alane Barrett and her cousin Jaime Barrett.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 4-6 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Linwood Cemetery Memorial Wall.

I met Stacy in the ER at Lawrence General when I was a new NP and she was secretary. She became a good friend. Then, when my mom became ill, she helped me with mom´s food shopping, doctor appointments, etc. Will never forget her.
