Stan Miesner Obituary

Stan Miesner, age 81, of Springfield, MO passed away on December 26, 2024.
He was born December 30, 1942 in Cole Camp, MO, the son of Harry and Eleanor Miesner. He was a graduate of Drury College and Southwest Missouri State University (B.S. and M.A. in History). He taught American History at Springfield Public Schools for twenty-seven years and was an Army veteran, stationed in Germany during the Cold War.
His interests included history, literature, the American South, and Europe- and three wonderful Shi-Tzus.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson Alex, he is survived by his wife Elizabeth, sons Stanley (Martha) and Scott, stepson Christopher King (Colleen), former wife and mother of his sons, Judith Whitfield, grandchildren Richard, Ashley, Joshua (Emily), Austin (Ashli), Luis Ahumada (Missy), Gavin King, and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 6, 2024 at 11AM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

I'm sorry to hear of Stan's passing. Didn't know him well in school, but he
was friendly and kind.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Miesner. She was favorite history teacher at Hillcrest. I never forgot him , always enjoyed his class . He helped encourage my love of history!! RIP TEACHER
