Stan Nelson Obituary
On February 21, 1965 he married Jackie Werkmeister in Curtis, NE. To this union a son Ricky and daughter Peggy were born. He was a proud member of Curtis Volunteer Fire Department for 55 years. Stan owned Nelson Service for 24 years prior to retirement.
Survivors include his wife Jackie of Curtis; son Ricky (Debbie). Nelson of Dillon CO, and daughter Peggy (Kevin) Fritsche of Maywood; Grandchildren Courtney (Greg) Large, Devon (Kelsey) Fritsche, Tyler (Emily) Nelson and Jordan Nelson; great grandchildren Kimber Large, Fletcher and Moxon Fritsche; sister Cheryl (Randy) Jurgens of Lincoln; sisters-in-law Judy Nutt of Curtis and Jolene (Roger) Farrar of Kearney.
Stan is preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Florence Nelson, his in-laws Art and Verneta Werkmeister, sister Cindy Softley, a nephew Chad Softley and brother-in-law Bill Nutt.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Curtis Cemetery, Curtis, NE.
Casual dress is requested.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Curtis Fire Department and Ambulance.
