Stanford William Sharp
September 10, 1948 – April 3, 2025
God quietly called home Stanford William Sharp on April 3, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on September 10, 1948, in Cleveland, Tennessee, to the late William "Jack" Stanford Sharp and the late Anna "Lemmie" Cummings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Sharp, and sisters, Deborah Lavette Sharp King and Jacqueline Althea Sharp.
Stanford's legacy of love and strength lives on through his children: Kari Ford-Saxton of Stone Mountain, GA, J. Marty Lowe (Donna Christian-Lowe) of Chattanooga, TN and Chester Sharp of Atlanta, GA. He was a proud grandfather to Mason Kennedy Lowe of Chattanooga, TN; Jordyn Tai Brown (E-5 Sergeant Shane P. Brown) of Fort Carson, Colorado Springs; Petty Officer 2nd Class MA2 Sydney Morgan Saxton NSA Souda Bay of Crete, Greece; and Kenya and Justice Sharp of Atlanta, GA. He was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Peyton Joi Brown of Fort Carson, Colorado Springs.
He is survived by his siblings: Zachary (Cassandra) Sharp, Clarence Lawrence, and Vanessa Sharp, all of Cleveland, TN; and Teri (Bobbie) Evans of Minneapolis, MN. Stanford's extended family includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Stanford was an entrepreneur, a visionary, and a committed community leader. A passionate tennis fan, he often shared his love for the sport with friends and family, not only through watching matches but also by teaching others the game and encouraging them to pick up a racket. Above all, he was a devoted father, a source of strength to his family, and a man who found joy in helping others.
To know him was to love him-and to love him was everything. "
