Stanley John Chronowski, Sr., age 99, died peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the comfort of his home in White Oak. Born April 7, 1925, in Wyoming, PA, he was the son of the late George and Loretta (Dunsavage) Chronowski and the loving husband of 68 years of Agnes Richards Chronowski. Stanley is a beloved father of Stanley Jr. (Cindy) of Damascus, MD; Peter (Jackie) of Spring City, PA; Cathleen (Robert) Condrac of Level Green; Carol (Corey) McHaddon of White Oak; Cheryl (Gregory) Berko of North Versailles; Charlene (Matthew) Sedlak of White Oak; daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Chronowski of White Oak.

Stanley is the brother of George Chronowski of Wyoming, PA, and Charlotte Paluck of Annapolis, MD.
Stanley cherished and loved his wife and children. He was so proud that each one of his children graduated from college. For over 55 years, Stanley enjoyed vacations at Bethany Beach with his family, including "it's 5:00 pm somewhere" cocktail hour. His hobbies included many, such as fishing trips with his sons and sons-in-law, gardening, homemade wine and beer, and watching the grass grow while listening to a baseball game.
Stanley was a Charter Member of St. Angela Merici Parish and a lifelong member of the Holy Name Society. He served as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Usher, Democratic Committeeman for District 4 and was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Respect Life Ministry, Westinghouse SURE, and White Oak AARP. He was the first Chairman of Cub Scout Pack #40 when it was organized at St. Angela Merici.
Stanley began his studies at Penn State University and then continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
He then worked for Westinghouse at the East Pittsburgh Switchgear Division, West Mifflin Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, and the Monroeville Energy Center. His engineering experience included working on the first atomic submarine, the Nautilus. After 43 years of service, he retired.
During World War II, Stanley served in the United States 579th Bombardment Squadron, 8th Army Air Force. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion (Gen. Smedley D. Butler Legion) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars East Pittsburgh Post 5008.
Stanley was blessed with 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
