Stanley Delaney Obituary

RICHWOOD – Stanley Allen Delaney, 71 of Richwood, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026 in Dublin Methodist Hospital.

Stanley was born on Aug. 5, 1954 in Urbana, Ohio, to the late Stanley and Daisy (Stewart) Delaney.

He spent 32 years working at Ohio Grain-Champaign Landmark in Mechanicsburg. Over the decades, he became a familiar and dependable presence there, someone others could count on. He took pride in his work and in being part of the local community.

Away from work, Stanley filled his time with the hobbies that brought him comfort and enjoyment. He loved traveling and seeing new places, and he was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, waiting patiently for a bite. He enjoyed reading and could often be found with a book nearby. He also liked putting model kits together, taking his time and focusing on the details until everything was just right. Evenings spent playing cards with family or friends were some of his favorite moments.

Stanley is survived by his daughters, Crystal Hammond, Aleisha (Jason) Kirby, Brandie Delaney; grandchildren, Jordan Carver, LeeAnn Hammond, Faith Hammond; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sally (Sam) Davis, Threasa Sadler; as well as 7 nieces and nephews.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue and and several aunts and uncles.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026 in FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at noon with Pastor Michael Wilson officiating.
