Stanley Walter Grandville Fox Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Riverside Village Nursing Home surrounded by his wife, son and daughters. Stanley was born in Elkhart, IN at Elkhart General Hospital on February 20, 1948, to Norma Jean (Wilson) Fox-Thompson and Stanley Fox Sr.
He received his education at St. Vincent DePaul, where he was also an altar boy. He then went to Pierre Moran and Elkhart High School. Not wasting any time, he enlisted into the army. After basic training, he was stationed in Germany, in transportation driving the big trucks. Needless to say, he loved it. He always and I do mean always had a great story to tell that always started with "I had a partner" or "Me and my partner". He was honorably discharged in 1968. Stanley was a fun, loving guy who never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends dearly. He was the life of the party, never a dull moment around him.
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Gicheal Gregory and son Michael Gregory by their mother Doris Gregory (deceased) of Elkhart, IN. Daughters, Yolanda Fox, Toisan Fox, Stanette Fox and son Lil Stanley Fox III. Bonus daughters, Gwendyln Holiday and Carolyn Holiday (deceased). Their mother, Jeanette Fox (deceased) all Elkhart, IN and Shirley Riley Fox. His wife Joyce Brown Fox, son Chaunsey Fox of Elkhart, In. and bonus family daughters, Carlotta (Eugene) Williams, Romunda Brown, Sharon Williams and son Damon Hairston all of South Bend, IN. Sisters, Andrea Jean Fox of Houston, TX and Shawndalyn Kay Thompson, Culbreath (Vincent) of Indianapolis, IN, a multitude of other family members including grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more who he considered brothers and sisters, but too many to name. Just know that he loved you all!
Stanley was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Fox, his parents, and his other dad, Eddie Thompson, maternal grandparents, Marion Wilson and Grandville Wilson, paternal grandparents, Pernecia Fox and William Fox Sr., uncles, William Fox Jr., Melvin Fox, Jimmy Fox and Nathaniel Fox, aunts, Lorriane Fox and Anna Fox, and all others who greeted him with open arms. The family would like to thank Alicia from Heart to Heart, Twila Culbreath, the staff at Riverside Village and the CNA's at the Brickyard.
