Stanley Lee VanMeter Obituary
Born in Cumberland, MD, on February 15, 1954, he was the son of the late Stanley Lee VanMeter, Sr. and Goldie (Dawson) VanMeter.
Junior was employed as a laborer for the Local 616 for 42 years. He was a member of the Piedmont American Legion, Ridgeley VFW, and the Cumberland Democrat Club. Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Rebecca "Becky" (Phares) VanMeter; children, Melissa Boober and husband Dave, Christopher VanMeter, Brad Lee VanMeter and wife Debbie, Tiffany Newcomb, and Katelyn VanMeter; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Frederick Shuck, and Leslie "Coke" VanMeter; and sister, Marleana Miller and husband Richard.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 1 P.M. Burial will be in Biertown Cemetery.
In lieu of Junior's friends sending flowers, the family requests contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
