Stanley Marlar, Sr. Obituary
Stanley Erroll Marlar, Sr., age 77, passed away September 21, 2025. Stan was born in Corinth, Mississippi on November 8, 1947 to the late Talmadge and Virginia Marlar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vic Marlar; and sister, Felecia Bivens.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Hoffman; son, Stan Marlar, Jr.; grandchildren, Haley Langston (Cody), Hayden Marlar (Hannah), Hannah Marlar, and Hope Marlar; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Graycee, Rylee, and Walker; brother, T.V. Marlar; and his friend since 5th grade, Tant Dowell.
Stan attended Stratford High School in Nashville and graduated from Edgewater High School in Edgewater, Florida. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force and later retired from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. from the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville.
