MITCHEM, Stanley Eugene -age 57, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Born on Friday, August 18, 1967, Stanley was a beloved father, grandfather, sibling and friend whose generous spirit and kind heart touched all who knew him.
Stanley had a way of making everyone feel welcome - he never met a stranger. With a warm smile and a good story always on hand, he brought light and laughter wherever he went. He had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless joyful hours fishing, off-roading, and watching NASCAR. These passions brought him peace, excitement, and connection with those he loved.
He is survived by his children: Stanley Mitchem, Jr., Lynnette Mitchem Blackwell, and Ricky Mitchem; his brother, Donald Mitchem; and his four cherished grandchildren. Stanley was preceded in death by both parents, Mary Jane (née Helfenstine) Winhoven and Stanley G. Mitchem, as well as his brother, William G. Mitchem.
Stanley's Legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. His memory will live on in the stories around campfires, in the roar of an engine, and in the heart of those fortunate enough to have known him.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Stanley by spending time in nature, casting a line into the water, or simply sharing a kind word with a stranger - just as he would have.
May He Rest In Peace.
Services and great care are entrusted to Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home. Condolences, fond memories and photos may be shared at: www.DaytonFunerals.com To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Stanley Eugene Mitchem, please visit our Tree Store.
