Stanley Nelson Mullins, 83, of Villa Park, California (formerly of Corbin, Kentucky), passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024. Stan was born July 16, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Stan earned a BS and MA degree in education from Eastern Kentucky State College. He taught 6th grade math and science for 6 1/2 years. In 1967, he moved to California and began a career in real estate. His next 56 years were spent in different areas of the real estate business, but his favorite was developing and building homes. (He felt that "if you loved your job you'd never really work a day in your life".) Stan also enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, especially football.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jean Scalf Mullins, brothers Gerald and Dennis Mullins, sisters Carol Ann Mullins and Shirley Mullins Cook, and his in-laws Earl and Myrtle Sexton Davis.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Janice Davis Mullins, daughter Lindsay Mullins Whiddon (Jonathan), grandchildren Cade, Olivia and Bennett Whiddon, sister Sheila Mullins Smith (Doron), sister-in-law Phyllis Mullins Hickle, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and Sondra Davis, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joyce and Carl Osseforth, Linda and Eddie Hall, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Michael Addison officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm Saturday, May 24 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
