Stanley Plumer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perches - Graham's Funeral Home (La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home) on Nov. 27, 2024.
Stanley Plumer, a caring husband and father, passed away from complications of Alzheimer's disease on November 25, 2024, at the age of 87. He was born in Little Compton, RI, to Stanley and Violet (Harrison) Plumer. Stan grew up in Massachusetts, where his father served as a Congregational minister in various parishes. He met his first wife, Eliane Dessaux, in France while serving in the Army. After Stan returned from his deployment, Eliane immigrated to the US, and they married in Dennis, MA in 1962. They moved to Las Cruces in 1971 with their two sons, where Stan took a job as a guidance counselor at Las Cruces High School. After Eliane's death in 2000, Stan married Deanna Litke in 2003. After Deanna died, Stan moved to the Good Samaritan, where he met and married Nathalie Ostroot in 2018. Dealing with the challenges of Alzheimer's, they moved together to the Blue Horizon Memory Care Center in 2021. Stan was preceded in death by his three wives, Eliane, Deanna, and Nathalie. He is survived by two sons, Edward (Danielle) and Eric (Melissa); step-sons Christopher Valdez and Paul Funk (Rochelle); two brothers, Dick and Steve (Judy); and a grandson Nicholas. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Blue Horizon for their compassionate care of Stan during his last three years as well as to the Hospice staff of Sierra Healthcare. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
