Stanley Rulapaugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Phoenix on Dec. 28, 2025.
Stan Rulapaugh
Stan Rulapaugh was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on October 27, 1942 and passed away at home on December 23, 2025 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He grew up in Michigan and went on to obtain a bachelor degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan in 1964 and his MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1970.
Stan was a Certified Financial Analyst who began his banking career in Detroit before relocating to Phoenix 40+ years ago. He worked for several notable financial institutions before successfully starting his own Financial Advisor company. Stan was married to his college sweetheart, Ann Corstange, for 55 years until her death. He retired in 2010 to spend time with his wife as her health declined.
His passion for photography can be seen in the many pictures he took. Stan was rarely without a camera as "that will be when you see the flying saucer". He enjoyed swimming, hiking, and biking. Stan was fascinated by aircraft and enjoyed travelling the world in them. His love of travel led him to make friends wherever he was. His quick wit and dry sense of humor lightened many a moment. He was a wonderful chef, enjoyed a good Chardonnay, and loved to garden. He always maintained a positive outlook on life.
Stan is remembered for his generosity in providing help to struggling students. He helped through his endowment to Albion and with his personal efforts in providing computers, tuition, and financial assistance to individuals he met along the way. Stan's generosity helped enable several students to reach their graduation goals.
Stan is survived by his friend and partner, Anne Paulus and her children Mistie (Jacob) Tefft; Nicole (Ken) Johnson and 3 grandchildren; son Brian (Emily) Rulapaugh in Almeda, CA, and daughter Karen (Fred) Rulapaugh in Phoenix, AZ; brother Ken (Pat) Rulapaugh in Phoenix, brother-in-law Bruce Corstange in Scottsdale and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 10th at the family home from 11am – 2pm. Those needing directions please call. Donations in memory of Stan can be made to Albion College, 611 E. Porter St., Albion, MI 49224. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Stanley Rulapaugh, please visit our floral store.
