Stan Rupinski, 78, of Bucyrus, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Altercare of Bucyrus following a recent intestinal issue.
He was born March 29, 1947 in Versailles, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley and Helen (Pusi) Rupinski, and was a 1965 graduate of Bucyrus High School. Stan worked for a few years at Walther’s Hardware, Fischer Hardware and at WBCO before becoming a licensed insurance agent with Allstate in Bucyrus. He cared for the community’s insurance needs and formed some great friendships over his 50 plus years with the company. In 1970, he met Wanda L. Young and that next year on February 20, they married and have enjoyed their 54 years together.
Stan was formerly an active member of the Ohio Army National Guard, Good Hope Lutheran Church, Bucyrus Kiwanis Club, Jaycees and FOPA.
Stan was happiest around his family, and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandson, Gabe. He enjoyed a life of fishing at Lake Erie as well reeled in some pretty big fish at area farm ponds. Christmas was a special time, as he and Wanda would decorate their home when they lived on Arch Drive and occasionally went a little overboard. For many years, he dressed up as Santa, bringing much happiness to youngsters around the area and his favorite song of all time was, Jingle Bells. For relaxation, Stan was often found in his easy chair, watching his Indians, Browns and Buckeyes take the field.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, Stan is survived by children, Stan Rupinski, Heather (Ed) Motter; grandson, Gabe Motter as well as extended family members.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 – 3:55 pm on Tuesday, September 9 at Wise Funeral Service, where his memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 4:00 pm with family friend Scott McKee officiating.
If desired, donations can be made payable to the Bucyrus Backpack Program and will be accepted through the funeral home. Memories and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on his guestbook at www.wisefuneral.com.
