Stanley Jay Silver, 69, of Prosperity, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Mr. Silver was born on January 1, 1955 to the late Agnes Holder and Larry Tracy Silver. After high school he attended Spartanburg Methodist College where he received his Associates Degree in Criminology. Mr. Silver would go on to work for Norfolk Southern Railway as a special agent until his retirement. Mr. Silver was an outdoors man, finding joy in fishing, hunting, taking trips to the mountains, and even just working in his yard. He loved his Clemson Tigers, and was also very talented at painting and wood carving. Mr. Silver loved the Lord, and wanted everyone to know Christ. He set an excellent example for those he worked with, and would always encourage those that needed it. As a rule of thumb, Mr. Silver always wanted to leave things better than he found them, a trait that he passed down to his sons who admired him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny Silver; sons, Jon (Danielle) Silver of Blairsville, GA, and Justin (Jennifer) Silver of Gilbert; grandchildren, Karaline, Ollie, Bear, Andy, Millie, Addison, and Jase; and brothers, Ford (Cindy) Silver and Blane Silver.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be receiving friends following the service.
