Stanley "Stan" Houston Propes, 67, passed away on Monday, July 28th, 2025.

Stan was a proud Portland native. He was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing bingo, riding his Harleys, and watching all sorts of sports. Stan had never met a stranger and loved to be with his family and friends more than anything else. He will be missed by many and all who loved him.

He is preceded by his parents, Coy and Elizabeth Propes; grandchildren, Nicholas Diale and Skylar Hibbard; brothers, Mark Propes, Leslie Propes, and Coy Popes Jr.; and sister, Carol Helm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gayle Propes; daughters, Sharon Propes (Scott), Angela Banks (Rob), Crystal West (Varonica); brother, Bill Propes; sisters, Sheena Embry (Larry) and Martha Schickel (Scotty); grandchildren, Anthony Diale, Chad Banks, Tyler Smith, Haylee Campbell; and a host of extended family, friends, nieces and nephews.

Stan's celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m., on Friday, August 1st at Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run Rd. with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2- 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st.
