Stanley Eugene Teem, a devoted husband, father, grandfather-lovingly known as "Grandy" by his grandchildren-baseball mentor, and faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passed away on May 6, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Born on September 20, 1951, Stanley was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, class of 1973. His Bulldog pride ran deep, and he remained a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan throughout his life, never missing a chance to cheer on his team-whether in person or from home. He put his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, a belief that guided every part of his life and was the cornerstone of his character.
Stanley was a faithful member of Peavine Baptist Church and cherished gospel music and church throughout his life. His Christian faith was the foundation of his relationships and the many lives he touched.
Professionally, Stanley was self-employed and also served as a Major League Baseball scout. With a sharp eye for talent and a heart for mentoring, he played an instrumental role in developing the careers of many college and professional baseball players. He was passionate about the game and loved nothing more than watching baseball, talking baseball, and sharing that passion with others.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Farris Eugene Teem; mother, Ruby Brock Teem Presley and his brother, Larry Teem.
Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lisa Teem; two children, Corey Teem (Haylee) and Lindsay Sun (Nick); and four cherished grandchildren, Collin (14), Griffin (11), Caleb (7), and Maggie (6). He is also survived by his father-in-law, Harvey Volz; his brother, Gary Teem (April); along with many nieces and nephews.
Stanley will be remembered for his kind heart, his willingness to help others, his faith-driven life, and his love for family, baseball, and his Georgia Bulldogs. His life was a testament to his devotion to his family and his Savior, and his influence will continue to live on in the many lives he inspired.
The family would like to thank all the staff and nurses at Hearth Hospice, especially Jennifer Gentry, for their wonderful care and compassion during this time.
