FULTON-- Stanley Ellis Underwood, 93, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home. He was born June 3, 1931 to the late Leroy Underwood and the late Evelena Johnson Underwood in Fulton. He was veteran of U.S. Army and proudly served in the Koren War, where he specialized in communications. He retired from JESCO after 33 years of service. Stanley enjoyed raising cattle, and hogs, gardening, hunting and being outdoors. He was known for his gardening skills and using his mule, Hat to plow his garden, growing the best produce and selling to the public. He was a founding member of the Itawamba County Saddle Club, and enjoyed showing horses. Stanley was always willing and happy to help his family, friends and anyone in the community that needed help.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday February 28, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Douglas Kitchens, and Bro. Shane Ray officiating. Burial will be in Burntfields Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday February 27, at Senter Funeral Home and will continue from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Gail Foley, Peggy Crane, and Billie Joyce Johnson, all of Fulton; grandchildren, Nikki Leathers, Lee Tate, Jacob (Amber) Foley, Amber Russell, Luke Johnson, and Hannah Johnson (Mack) Beane; great grandchildren, Dameion (DeAngela) Leathers, Destiny Timms, Karley Tate, Jack Thomas Beane, Nora Quinn Beane, and Anniston Russell; 3 great great grandsons, and 2 great great granddaughters; brother, Joe Wayne Underwood of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerna Underwood; parents; grandson, Clay Wallace; great grandson, Dustin Leathers, and 10 siblings.
