Stanley Ray Vela, age 50, Ascended to Heaven on February 7, 2025, with his family by his side. Ray was born on February 5, 1975, in
Corpus Christi, Texas.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Ray was a jack of all trades; he could be found at his shop working on a project or in the backyard cooking some BBQ for his family and friends.
Ray had a passion for driving his cars and a love for taking his family cruising downtown.
Ray shared an everlasting love story with his wife, Jessica Vela, his soul mate of 31 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Juan and Baudelia Vela and his uncle Lauro Vela.
Ray leaves behind to cherish his memories, his mother, Isabel Thrasher, his wife of 31 years, Jessica Vela; children, Kassandra Vela, Danyelle Vela, Briana Vela, and only son Julian Vela; his treasured grandchildren, Harmony Serene and NovaLynn Grace who will continue his legacy.
He is survived by brothers, Manuel (Jessica) Rojas and Jimmy Thrasher; brothers-in-law Jesse Albert Mendoza, Jesse Rey (Krystal) Mendoza, Michael Mendoza and sisters-in-law Jessica Crystal (Jon) Botello, Michelle (Rick) Luna, Crystal Garza, and Brenda (Henry) Alaniz; In-Laws, Jesse and Velma Mendoza, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends who he considered family.
Ray was an amazing man who dedicated himself to his family. He was always willing to offer a helping hand and words of wisdom. His generosity was endless, and his willingness to put others first is a true definition of his character.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on February 19, 2025. Prayer service will be recited at 7pm that same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home located at 2409 Baldwin Blvd. Corpus Christi Texas 78405.
Mass will be held on February 20, 2025, at 1pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 1322 Comanche St. Corpus Christi Tx 78401. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
