Stanley Leonard Voight, 94, of Stephensville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Stanley was born in the Town of Ellington on September 21, 1929 to the late Leonard and Leona (Sykes) Voight. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stephensville where, as a boy, he was baptized and confirmed, and on June 13, 1953, married, to Marian Welch.
Stanley was a hard working dairy farmer and together, he and Marian raised their four children on their dairy farm. He lived and breathed farming and instilled his strong work ethic in his children. He was a born leader, and was very involved in the community over the years. He served as President of the Outagamie County Holstein Breeders Association, Project Leader in the 4-H Club, President of the 4-H Adult Leaders Board, Representative of the North East District 4-H Council and President of Outagamie DHIA. He also served on the Town of Ellington Park Committee, Town of Ellington Senior Citizens (with Marian), Town of Ellington Cemetery Board, and many church committees.
Stanley wasn't all work and no play. He loved bowling, polka dancing, and traveling with Marian.
Stanley is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Marian; his children, Steven (Susan) Voight, Mark (Sonya) Voight, Susan Voight Caballero, Kathy (Jeff) Lemke; grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Voight, Timothy (Tracie) Voight, Mitch (Amanda) Voight, Hailey (Chad) Dercks, Cole (Amy) Voight, Ashley (Brock) Rubens, Alisha (Matt) Wichman, Nicole (friend, Will) Caballero, Jason (Ashlee) Lemke, Brandon (friend Megan) Lemke, Collin (Makayla) Lemke. He is further survived by great-grandchildren, Cadyn, Gabriel, Jordy, Corbin, and Gunnar Voight, Audrey, Jack, and Charlie Dercks, Ellie, Benjamin, and Madison Voight, Aria and Aven Rubens, Nora, Lena, and Roman Wichman, Ryder and Maren Lemke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Dwain Johnson, Jeanne and John Leksander, Dennis and Bridget Welch; along with many nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leona; grandchildren, Nicholas Voight and Brett Lemke; siblings, Elaine and her husband, Keith Wunderlich, Ronald and his wife, Barbara, infant brothers, Bernard and Ervin, and infant sister, Nancy; in-laws, Helen and John Thern, Ilene Meyers, Wayne Welch, and Robert Jenkel.
The family would like to give a special thanks to DJ, Creation, Linda, and the wonderful, caring staff of Compassus. A special thank you also to Rev. Joel Lillo and Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service for Stanley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stephensville with Rev. Joel Lillo officiating. The Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Ellington Union Cemetery.
A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
