Stanley T. (Wojciechowski) Wojeski, 95, of Midline Road, Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Born on December 7, 1929 in Amsterdam, NY he was the son of the late, Rudolph and Edith (Jaruszewska) Wojciechowski.
A lifelong area resident, he was a 1948 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Mr. Wojeski served his country in the U.S. Navy as an electricians mate on the USS Midway Carrier. He was employed at the Navy Depot, Western Electric and Sherwin Williams Co. In 1991, after 26 years, he retired from Longview Fibre Co. as the Office Manager.
Mr. Wojeski was a member of the former St. Johns Church where he served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Collector. He also sang in the St. Cecilia's Church Choir and the Men's Choral Glee Club. He was also a former member of the former Polish Bowling League and the PNL Club; and at one time served as Director of the United Way of Amsterdam. Stan would often visit assisted living and nursing homes to play his keyboard and sing for the resident's enjoyment. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
On September 4, 1955 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary L. Ratka Wojeski. That union was blessed with 65 years of marriage until her passing on January 19, 2020. He was also predeceased by his three siblings, William (Wojciechowski) Wood, Josephine Grzeskowiak and Mary Rowley.
Survivors include his three children, June (Jeff) Burger, David (Sandi) Wojeski, and Dr. Gary (Angela) Wojeski; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Dan) Eger, Kelly (Chris) Rolison, Koty (Amy) Wojeski, and Ally Wojeski; three great grandchildren, Abigail Eger, Nicholas Eger, Alena Rolison; and several nieces, nephew and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June, 26, 2025 at 11a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50-52 Cornell Street, Amsterdam with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Burial with military honors will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 4p.m. until 6p.m. at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY. Please visit the online memorial at www.roseandhughesfh.com
