Stan York, age 70, of Henning, TN, passed away at home at 7:30 am September 12, 2025. Stan was born September 30, 1954 in Mt Vernon, IL to the late Bill York and Margaret (McKay) York.
Stan married his high school sweetheart, Diana (Estes) York in 1973. Recently celebrated 52nd Anniversary.
In addition to his wife Stan is survived by, his sister Diane Lentz of Mt Vernon. 2 sons, Christopher York of Henning, TN and Michael York (Chrystal York) Covington, TN.
Grandsons Ryan York, Munford, TN and Jacob York, Covington, TN and nephew Jeff Hicks of MT Vernon. Stan served in the United States Marine Corps at Camp LeJeune from 1972 to 1975, and Grand Rapids, MI from 1975 to 1978, after which he was in reserves for 2 years.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by infant brother, Duane York, grandparents, Opal and Clarence York, Ora and Claude Vaughn.
Stan attended Lincoln Grade School, Casey Jr. High School, Mt Vernon High School, graduating in 1972 Later he attended Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois, where he received his Associates Degree. Stan was a professional photographer for many years and enjoyed international travel with multiple trips to Amsterdam, France, Ireland, Italy. Taking many pictures of the places he travelled to. After retiring from cooperate life he purchased a large studio in Ripley, TN. Enjoying a successful business taking pictures, in addition to, several workshops teaching others about photography.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, IL. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Mount Vernon, IL. Flag presentation will be conducted by the American Legion Post 141.
