Stefan Muller Obituary

Stefan was born on April 23, 1927 in Kucanci, Croatia, a son of Johann and Annamarie (Sauerwein) Muller. He married Karolina Neumann on April 17, 1948 in Seeshaupt, Germany. They immigrated to Peoria, IL in 1956. Karolina passed away on November 2, 2010 in Peoria, IL.
Survivors include his daughter, Trudy, and son, Helmut, in-laws Helen and Louis Mayer and their children, Heidi (Gene) Eagle, Richard (Linda) Mayer and Michael (Claudia) Mayer, as well as many loving grandnephews and grandnieces and several nieces and nephews living in Germany.
Stefan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings, Anna, Johann, Heinrich, Emma and Georg.
Stefan worked as a bricklayer and a mason for OSF St. Francis Hospital from 1963 until 1989, when he retired and constructed the home he had long dreamed of building.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a half hour prior visitation. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow services at Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

Stefan was a kind, beautiful soul and was always attentive to children. I will never forget "potato fest" at his house where he and his family would dig a hole and show his nieces and nephews how potatoes are cooked underground.
