Stefani Sailsbury McGehee, born on May 17, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas, to Mari Anderson Sailsbury and Lowell Sailsbury, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 21, 2025, after a brave battle with brain cancer, with her sister by her side.
Stefani was a loving sister to Warner Sailsbury (deceased, 2016) of Roaring Springs, TX, Kevin Sailsbury (deceased, 2025) of Lubbock, TX, Zan Murphrey of Cleburne, TX, and Danny Sailsbury of Coffeeville, OK. She was a devoted mother to Paul Warner Busby of Austin, TX, and Michael Steven Busby of Cleburne, TX, and a cherished grandmother to Kayden Busby of Waxahachie, TX, Jett and Jasper Busby of Cleburne, TX, and John Scott Morales of Lewisville, TX.
Stefani graduated from Lubbock High School in 1971 and attended business school in Corpus Christi, TX. She worked as a bookkeeper in Corpus Christi until she married her first husband, Gary Busby, with whom she had two beautiful boys. Stefani dedicated her life to her children, volunteering at their school library and attending school functions.
In 2001, Stefani married Larry McGehee in Cleburne, TX. They first met in high school and reconnected later in life. Larry truly believes she saved his life just in time. Stefani found joy in her community at Living Proof Baptist Church, where she especially loved teaching the Pre-School class at Sunday school and Vacation Bible School during the summers.
Stefani's kindness and dedication extended beyond her immediate family, as she helped raise and shape the lives of many nieces and nephews. She was fond of watching animals the world over and deeply loved all living things. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
