Kenneth H. (Ken) Miser, Jr., 62, of Cleburne passed away November 23, 2025, with loving family members at his side. Ken was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 9, 1962, to Kenneth H. Sr. and Louise Miser. Growing up, he primarily lived in Joshua, Texas. He had a deep passion for knowledge; from a young age. He was an avid reader. After high school he worked in various service-oriented jobs including as a travel agent, a department manager at TCU bookstore, and as the office manager for the Conover Law Firm.
Ken is remembered for his kindness, generosity, joyful and fun-loving spirit, good nature, wit, and servant’s heart. He loved his family deeply and unconditionally, treated everyone he met with respect, was active in his church and community, and was forever devoted to his pets. He was an excellent, self-taught chef who inherited a love of cooking from his beloved grandmother (Nama). Ken loved life. And everyone was drawn to his gentle soul, with a pinch of dramatic flair.
Ken officially married his life partner, Brooks William (Bill) Conover III, on April 11, 2013, in Seattle, Washington. They had an active life together sharing in their faith, family, politics, community, and dogs. Ken was an active member of Saint Mark’s Methodist Church. He was involved with the Democratic Party, serving as a past officer in the Johnson County Democratic Party and as a founding member of the Texas Chisolm Trail Stonewall Democrats.
Ken is survived by his mother, Louise Miser; sister, Ann Marie Ling and husband, Wayne Ling, brothers, Blake Miser and Jake Miser and wife, Alice Miser; daughter, Lauren Miser; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Bill Conover; granddaughter, Ella Masters; grandparents, Wade and Myldred Miser; and father Kenneth H. Miser, Sr.
Memorial of Life service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 1109 W Henderson St. Cleburne, Texas 76033.
