Steffen Rolf Kadie

Steffen Rolf Kadie, age 77 of Ocean Springs, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Carole Kadie.

Steffen is survived by his daughter, Jessica Kadie Barclay; his sister, Louise Kadie; and his grandson, John Barclay.

Steffen grew up in Poolesville, Maryland, and graduated from Harker High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from High Point College. A master brick mason by trade, Steffen later moved to Florida and eventually found a new passion as an over-the-road truck driver, delivering goods across all 48 contiguous states.

His travels behind the wheel led him to Nebraska, where he spent several meaningful years. He was an elder member of Evangelical Free Church in Sydney, Nebraska. A lifelong history enthusiast with a special interest in the Civil War, Steffen made it a personal mission to visit every National Park in the United States. He also enjoyed collecting vintage stamps, a hobby that brought him joy and connection to the past.

In retirement, Steffen settled on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where he embraced life by the water. He joined Mosaic Church in Ocean Springs. He spent his days playing pickleball, participating in local stamp clubs, and enjoying the company of close friends and family.

A private burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Ocean Springs.
