Stella Katherine Cantwell (née Wassall), born December 28, 1952 passed away this 22nd Day of April, 2024. At 71 years of age after many years of illnesses and difficult complications of diabetes. Born in Trenton Mercer County New Jersey to Joseph Albert Wassall and Stella Wassall (Dworak) both deceased. Stella also known as Zinny, nicknamed after the zinnias flower was a long term resident of Elmwood Hills in Blackwood NJ. Where she passed away peacefully with her loving sisters Carol and Vicky and brother Michael by her side.
Stella 'Zin' is the oldest sister and sibling to surviving brothers Michael (Maciej) Wassall, Ronnie Wassall, Karl Wassall, Glenn Wassall and sisters Victoria Lawrence and Carol Lewallen. Deceased Johnny Wassall and Kenny Wassall.
Stella 'Zin' grew up at our family farm in Chesterfield NJ. She was involved in the FFA and after graduating from Northern Burlington Regional high school met and in January 6, 1973 married Ronnie E. Cantwell from the state of Oklahoma where she and her husband live and raised their son Ronnie E. Cantwell Jr. of Texas and daughter Connie Cantwell Brandt of Oklahoma. Stella worked part time for Sears department store but then decided to spend more time being a house wife and mother before returning to work that she really enjoyed at Haskell Lemon asphalt company. Stella also worked part time for Visiting Angels helping and caring for the elderly. Great lasting memories caring for her two granddaughters Antonia and Annalee until the passing of her husband. Then did a little traveling before returning to New Jersey to live and care for our mother. Zin always loved playing cards 500 rummy and crafting with plastic canvas, collecting nicknacks and stopping at yard sales looking for butterflies and dream catchers. We could always get her laughing about our polish background, polka dotted panties and she loved reminiscing about the stories on the farm, high school boy friends, long time family friends.
She is survived by her great grandson Beckham, grand daughters Antonia and Annalee, grandson Hunter and nieces Meloney, Nicole and Claire. Nephew's Steven, Keith, Glenn Jr., Vincent, William, Alex, Johnathan, Evan and John. Many great nieces and great nephews. Also lots of cousins Linda, Diane, BettyJane, Frank, Pat, Stan and their spouses. Zinny, We love you and will miss you so much. Into God's hands we place you.
No viewing will be held as per Stella's wishes. Her life celebration will be held in the near future at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
