Stephanie Denise Behymer

Stephanie "Denise" Behymer went home to be with Jesus on February 26, 2025, at age 72.
Denise was born May 15, 1952, in Oklahoma City, OK. As a child, she moved frequently with her parents and two brothers, Steve and Rick, and lived in a variety of places across the country. Denise said life was not always easy growing up, but she enjoyed the "simpler ways" of things during her early years.
Denise met her husband, Norman Behymer, at Northwest Classen High School when they were both members of the Cry-Slurs Choral. They started dating in 1969 and were married on June 20, 1972, at Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Denise got her first job at Oklahoma Graphics while Norman became the minister of youth and music at Council Road Baptist Church in 1974. Two years later in 1976, the couple had their son, Jonathan, and Jeffery was born in 1980. Denise was forever changed when she said she "totally gave herself to the Lord" at a James Robinson Crusade.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Denise used her talents for the Lord working right beside Norman for the past five decades at Council Road church. Singing in the choir, God Song ensemble, Praise Song ensemble, duets, solos, acting in dramas and other productions were constant for so many years. Her sons enjoyed watching her give terrific and often very creative ideas to their dad at home when planning for events to take place at the church. Music was a constant, but Denise also enjoyed being a part of various Bible studies, her Fab Five girls' group, and investing in people as often as she could while pointing others to Jesus.
Later in life, God opened many doors for Denise to invest in people, and to tell them the good news of the gospel, to which she had devoted her life.
The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 11 a.m. in the Worship Center at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK.
