Stephanie Ann Dawson, 68, of St. Edward, NE, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Genoa Community Hospital – Long Term Care in Genoa, NE.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at St. Edward Christian Community Church, St. Edward, NE with Pastor Mick Goc officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward, NE. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service.
Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Stephanie Ann Dawson, daughter of Raymond Spurling and Florence Parthena (Wright) Dawson was born April 24, 1956, in Columbus, NE. She was then baptized in May of 1956 and was later Confirmed in May of 1968. Stephanie attended St. Edward Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1974. She then went on to further her education at Kearney State College where she graduated in 1978 with a degree in journalism.
Stephanie returned to St. Edward where she worked for her father at the St. Edward Advance until 1995 when she purchased the business. For 23 years she owned, operated, published, and was the editor of the St. Edward Advance. In 2018 she retired and sold the business.
Stepahanie was a member of the St. Edward Presbyterian Church from 1968 – 1984 and then the United Methodist Presbyterian Church (now known as the St. Edward Christian Community Church) from 1984 until her passing. She held various P.E.O. offices and was a part of the women's church group. In her leisure time she enjoyed going fishing, gardening, baking and especially spending time with her family.
Stephanie is survived by her two sisters: Cynthia (Dennis) Feeser of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Jennifer Miller of Navarre, FL; one brother-in-law: Ray Henning of Hebron, NE; three nephews: Shawn (Seth Mahoney) Henning of San Francisco, CA; Andrew Feeser of Salix, IA; Ben Miller of Navarre, FL; two nieces: Megan (Eric) Schriner of Grand Island, NE; Emily (Mohammad) Miller of Gilroy, CA; one great-niece and great-nephews: Elisha and Caleb Schriner of Grand Island, NE; friend: Garland Reynoldson of St. Edward, NE; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Florence; and sister: Elizabeth Henning.
